Landscape Maintenance and Lawn Care in Tualatin, OR

Maintenance · Tualatin, OR

A yard kept up all year at one flat rate

You want someone to show up and keep the yard looking good. Our landscape maintenance program does that 12 months a year. It covers lawn care and yard upkeep: mowing, edging, trimming, weeding and picking up debris. Four times a year, the lawn also gets fertilizer.

Green Tree Landscape and Maintenance is a landscaping company serving Tualatin and the towns around it. The monthly rate is flat, so a winter month costs the same as a month in leaf season. We work about 10 to 15 miles around Tualatin, on the south and west side of the Portland metro. Call or text (971) 772-9892, and we will look at the yard and put the quote in writing.

What Does Our 12-Month Lawn Care Program Include?

The core of the program is mowing, edging, trimming, weeding and picking up debris. We trim shrubs and small trees below six feet. Anything above six feet is quoted as additional work.

Four times a year, the lawn gets a seasonal fertilizer application. Cleanups are part of the program year too. That means a spring cleanup, and a fall leaf cleanup once the leaves are down.

Program customers can also add a few extras. One is a top-up of bark dust, the Northwest name for shredded bark mulch on planting beds. For program customers, other extras are sprinkler repairs and seasonal startups, gutter cleaning and a soft wash of hard surfaces.

A Year of Yard Maintenance in the Tualatin Valley

For most lawns here, OSU Extension recommends mowing at 2 to 3 inches, about once a week. Cutting more than a third of the blade at one time scalps the grass. OSU also times lawn fertilizer for the spring and fall months.

Summer is the dry stretch in the Tualatin Valley. To stay green, lawns here need water from mid-May to early September, OSU Extension says. A lawn left dry goes dormant and turns straw brown, then grows again when the fall rains return. If the old system the builder put in cannot keep up, a new sprinkler system is its own project.

The fall rains bring the grass back, and leaf season brings more work. Fall is also a good time for lawn aeration, an add-on for program customers. OSU Extension recommends coring, which pulls plugs of soil, when the ground is compacted or water no longer soaks in. In winter, OSU notes that an occasional mowing keeps grass upright and helps clear debris.

A Flat Monthly Rate Versus a Per-Visit Lawn Mowing Service

A per-visit lawn mowing service bills by the trip, so the cost follows the season. Bills climb when the grass needs mowing every week, and again in leaf season. They drop in winter, when there is less to do.

Our program spreads the year into one flat monthly rate. The rate stays the same in winter and in leaf season, when there is more to do. You know what each month costs before the season starts.

A steady bill is easier to plan around than one that swings with the grass. The yard also stays on the program through the slow months.

How We Work

How a Job With Green Tree Runs

From the first call or text to the finished work, here is how it goes.

1

Call or text

Call or text (971) 772-9892 and tell us about the yard and where it is. Send photos if you like.

2

We look at the yard

We come out to see the yard and where the water runs. For the maintenance program, we look over the lawn and the beds.

3

The written quote

You get the quote in writing, with the work spelled out. Once you say yes, we set a start date, and work days follow the weather.

4

The work

Then the work starts, whether that is an install, a build or your first maintenance visit. On a new landscape, the soil is prepped and graded before anything goes in the ground.

5

The finish

We take a final look at the work with you, and the site is cleaned up. Then we go over what comes next, like watering new sod or the date of the next visit.

FAQ

Maintenance Questions, Answered

Common questions about maintenance around Tualatin and the south and west metro. If yours is not here, call or text and ask.

Call (971) 772-9892

How much does lawn care cost around Tualatin?
The yard sets the price. Lot size and the split between lawn and planting beds move it. The number of shrubs and hedges and the trees that drop leaves in fall move it too. Call or text (971) 772-9892, and we look at the yard first, then put the quote in writing.
Do I have to sign a contract for the program?
No. The program runs 12 months without a signed contract. The monthly rate stays flat the whole time.
Why is my lawn more moss than grass by March?
OSU Extension says moss starts growing with the fall rains and peaks in early spring. It is most common in lawns that are mowed too short, underfed, wet or shady. Mowing at the right height and feeding in spring and fall help the grass crowd it out. A soggy yard may need a French drain, and in deep shade artificial turf can replace the grass.
Do you do one-time yard cleanups?
Our cleanups come as part of the program year: a spring cleanup and a fall leaf cleanup. A yard that needs more than a cleanup may need new planting beds and plants first. After that, the program keeps it up.
Which shrubs and trees does the program trim?
The program trims shrubs and small trees below six feet. Anything above six feet is quoted as additional work, in writing.
Can you keep up the yard after you install it?
Yes. The same company does the maintenance, the installation and the hardscape. A new lawn or new planting beds can go straight onto the 12-month program.

Carlos and team did a great job on our new paver patio and pathway. Communication was excellent and responses were quick. He shared examples of options and asked questions along the way to make sure we were getting what we wanted. We'll use them again for future projects without hesitation.

We had a great experience working with Carlos and his team. Carlos was professional, reliable, and easy to communicate with throughout the entire project. His pricing was very reasonable, and I really appreciated his attention to detail. He took the time to make sure the grading and sod installation were done correctly rather than rushing through the job. It’s clear Carlos takes pride in his work and cares about doing things well. We would absolutely hire him again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for landscaping or yard work.

He was very good. Review our system and did an upgrade. Checked all sprayer heads and adjusted as needed. He was very professional and efficient. Great job. Would recommend he to anyone who has a sprinkler issue.
